ministers message

Along my life's journey I have always sought answers to my spiritual questions, to my questions about God. You know, the age old question, "What is it all about?" I could not understand how God could be so distant from His creation, how God could be an enlarged image of a human being somewhere, out there, punishing and blessing in a very capricious manner. Also, if Jesus was God incarnate in a little area of real estate, who was watching over the rest of the universe? I could not figure out how there could be talk of a God of love when in the same breath there was talk of a God who would send you to a burning hell for eternity. I sought out the answers to my questions in various churches.

My search eventually led me to Unity Village and the study of Truth. The study of Truth provided answers for my wondering mind and showed me how to apply Spiritual Principles to my life, here and now, in a very practical way. I began taking classes at Unity Village in Lee's Summit Missouri and founded Unity in the Dunes Study Group in 1978.

In 1999, our Unity in the Dunes grew from a study group into a church. Sunday services began on October 31, 1999 and we became an incorporated church in Indiana June of 2000. In 2004 I became a Licensed Unity Minister and I now serve on the board of our Great Lakes Unity Region.

In addition to our Sunday services and a Youth Education Program (Sunday school), we offer Tuesday evening classes where various topics are presented. Wedding services, spiritual counseling, and other ministerial services are also available.

The goal of Unity in the Dunes is to create a spiritual family where all are welcome. To build a spiritual community where all can come together to learn and find support as we spiritually grow. Unity's Co-Founder, Charles Fillmore said, "Unity is Practical Christianity." "Unity is a way of life!"

My husband Richard and I have lived in Northwest Indiana all of our lives. We have four children of whom we are very proud and four wonderful grandchildren.

Remember, you are always in the Loving Presence of God right where you are.

Blessings,
